Additional media

If you have time, look into Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” [wikipedia], a 2006 documentary that mainly focused on a presentation sometimes referred to as “the most famous slideshow in the world.” Here is a word from Duarte, the design firm that helped Gore craft the presentation.

Note: Remember, reading responses are due Monday night this week for discussion in class on Tuesday.

Guest

On Thursday, February 16 we were visited by Abigail (Abby) Banks (LinkedIn profile, press release that mentions her) from NYC’s Office of Emergency Management, and more specifically, with the Ready New York program.

This page has a lot of “disaster media” produced by Ready New York. When we start getting closer to working on the final project, it might be useful to review some of this material.
